What is Anomaly Detection
What is Anomaly Detection¶
Anomaly detection is a tool that finds the outliers of a dataset; those items that don’t belong. These anomalies might point to unusual network traffic, uncover a sensor on the fritz, or simply identify data for cleaning, before analysis.
VAE is an autoencoder whose encoding distribution is regularized during the training in order to ensure that its latent space has good properties allowing us to generate some new data. Moreover, the term “variational” comes from the close relation there is between the regularization and the variational inference method in statistics.
